New auxiliary building dedicated to the 2022 Lacquering Line of the ELVAL industrial plant, Oinofyta

The “2022 Lacquering Line” is a key addition to the ELVAL industrial plant in Oinofyta regarding delivery of painted aluminum rolls and sheets. Using the latest technology, it is sheltered in a 200 m long, 20 m wide and 20m high metallic building – it also expands downwards and meanders into a 15m deep basement.

As a rule, applied to all major production units of the plant, an adjacent “auxiliary building” is to be built, to host engineers’ offices and meeting rooms, as well as machinery servicing facilities and the unit’s changing rooms and WCs.

Land area being extremely valuable to the industrial plant, the design focuses on smart use of space. As the width of the building’s print has been restricted to no more than 10 meters (priority given to large vehicle circulation in the area in front of it), the top floor expands to overhang another 2,5 meters, in order to accommodate the most office workspace possible. The main staircase, at the building’s left corner, fits in a narrow triangular print bordered by the vehicles route.

Simplicity and order, economy of space and safe circulation. Form Follows Function.
