2-storey office building within the industrial plant of ELVAL, Oinofyta
This 90m long by 18m wide 2-storey building will host offices as well as conference halls of a moderate size for educational use.
It will replace the front part of a large metallic industrial warehouse (90m wide by 150m long) belonging to the former “PEPSICO” premises that have recently been attached to the ELVAL expanding industrial plant at Oinofyta.
The new 2-storey structure will significantly increase usable surface for offices in the “Southern plant” (southern part of the plant). The upper floor can provide more than 30 office units (of 20-25 sq.m. each) accompanied by 4 to 5 meeting rooms of various sizes. Most office units take place in line at the front of the 1st floor (arrangement emphasized by the building’s characteristic form), while the floor’s back zone will host all utility space, but also meeting rooms and more offices – the design of the back of the building provides this back zone with natural light and ventilation, and also offers open air linear atriums to be used as outdoor seating space.
The ground floor will host two conference halls (150 sq.m. each) that can be united into a single 300 sq.m. columnless space, enhanced by a 200 sq.m. large reception area in the front. A cafeteria-restaurant and additional offices will also find place in the front zone of the ground floor, whereas new changing rooms and various utility space will be fitted in the back. Construction is planned to take place in two phases, in order to accommodate the transition of the use of the existing office space at the front of the warehouse.
Straight forward layout and pure functionality of space and circulation are matched with a fancy outer shell design, that promotes aluminum building materials and fully exploits the building’s frontal position beyond the southern entrance gate of the plant.
